Minecraft Grass Blocks: How to Make and Get

Minecraft has a wide range of items and blocks throughout the open world. One of the most commonly found blocks is the grass block, which can be used for multiple purposes. But you may have noticed that every time you pick them up, they turn into a dirty block. Several players are looking for ways to create and obtain them. So here is our guide on how to make and get grass blocks in Minecraft.

How to make a block of grass in Minecraft

You cannot currently craft a block of grass by any crafting means. You need to find and mine blocks of grass scattered around the world to get them. So, without further ado, let’s start with how to get Grass blocks.

How to get grass blocks

There are two ways to scatter grass blocks. Both methods require their search.

Follow these steps to get grass blocks in Minecraft:

  • First, you need to use the Silk Touch enchantment on your valuable farming tools.
  • If you don’t have the Silk Touch, check out our guide on how to get the Silk Touch enchantment to get it.
  • You can equip any type of axe, shovel, or pickaxe to use the Silk Touch enchantment on them. Then you need to get a block of grass.

  • If you don’t use Silk Touch, you’ll just get dirt blocks instead of grass blocks.
  • So, make sure you enchant your valuable tools with Silk Touch.
  • Now you can find grass blocks almost everywhere around the world.
  • But for most blocks, head to the Overworld Biomes to get a lot of them.
  • Once you use the tool and mine a block, it will hover above the ground. Make sure you pick it up so it goes into your inventory.
  • The second way to get grass blocks is to get them without using the Silk Touch enchantment.
  • You can defeat endermen who are holding grass blocks to get them without using an enchantment.
  • But this is a rather difficult way to get Grass Blocks in Minecraft.
  • Once you kill the endermen holding the grass block, you will be able to pick up the blocks and add them to your hotbar.

We suggest stacking these blocks inside each other as they can be used for multiple purposes.
