Corsair designs a flexible gaming monitor as needed. The Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 is an impressive panel that will justify its price.

If you’re looking for a new gaming monitor, one of the first things to decide is whether you want a flat or curved screen. Both formats have their advantages and disadvantages, and when choosing an LCD screen, you often have to choose between an IPS or VA panel. Corsair is developing a new monitor that offers the best of both worlds.

Corsair recently entered the gaming monitor market. The company recently announced the Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240, a 45-inch 3440 x 1440 pixel display that can be manually curved to enjoy a curved display or flat screen. The prototype has a pair of knobs on the sides that allow the curvature of LG’s W-OLED panel to be adjusted to 800R. You can even adjust the sides independently of each other – although there is no practical need for this.

As for whether you should buy a flat or curved monitor, it’s often said that the former is more for everyday use and productivity, while the latter is ideal for gaming as it makes the experience more immersive. It will be interesting to see how durable this 45WQHD240 is. Foldable screen smartphones from Samsung have visible wrinkles after some time of use, and screen protectors are known to wear out. For a monitor that will probably cost several thousand dollars, no one needs such shortcomings.

who will pay the high price

Based on other specs, the 45WQHD240 should be a more than capable gaming monitor. Its ultra-wide 21:9 panel delivers a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and covers 99% of the DCI-P3 digital cinema color space. It is also G-Sync compatible and can display a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. Its main drawback is that it is not compatible with VESA mounting systems, but the included stand offers plenty of ports.

This Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 monitor does not have a release date or price yet. However, given its technical description, there is no doubt that the score will be very cool. Corsair has promised to share more details in the coming months.
