By default, your iPhone’s sharing page will have a series of contacts that iOS thinks you’ll want to share content with. These suggestions are handy if you often share things with the same people, but they also clutter up the sharing sheet, invade the privacy of contacts in screenshots, and tell curious people who you share with the most. Luckily, you can remove or hide them when needed.
Although there are buttons on the share sheet to customize the share action bar and the list of actions and shortcuts, there are no visible settings for the top contact suggestion bar.
These suggestions appear as circles above the sharing extensions and you will see contacts with whom you have regularly or recently shared content through various platforms such as AirDrop, Mail, Messages, Messenger, Slack, etc. There is no edit button for them, but there is a hidden way to show contacts less often or permanently get rid of the whole series of contact suggestions.
Starting in iOS 14, Apple included controls for customizing Siri suggestions when sharing, and today they work in iOS 15 and iOS 16 just as they did when they were first released. The process for setting up Siri sharing suggestions also works for iPadOS 14 and later.
Option 1: Delete offers individually on a shared sheet
To remove individual contacts from the Siri suggestion bar, open the shared sheet, then press and hold the contact you want to hide. Select “Offer Less”in the pop-up window and this contact will disappear immediately.
You may see the contact again when sharing, but you won’t see it as often, and continuing to use the Suggest Less tool will hide it for longer. This is not the same as permanently deleting a contact from Siri Suggestions, which is not possible without deleting the contact itself. If that’s your goal, you might be better off hiding the entire line of contact suggestions, as shown in Option 2 below.
Option 2. Remove all contact offers on the exchange sheet
To exclude all contact suggestions, go to Settings -> Siri & Search and then turn off Show When Sharing (iOS 15 and later) or Suggestions When Sharing (iOS 14 ). The next time you load an activity view (the developer’s term for a shared sheet), the entire row of suggested contacts will be missing.
