Just don’t confuse it with the TikTok video reposts you see everywhere on Instagram (Meta has already stated that it will downgrade any videos that are posted from TikTok by detecting watermarks). The new feature is exclusively for posting TikTok stories as stories to Instagram and Facebook.

TikTok Stories feature is still being tested

This feature is currently being rolled out in stages. If you don’t see new posting options on competing social networks, you might want to come back later. TikTok just started spreading this around the world, so it might take a while for everyone to get their hands on it.

How to repost your TikTok story to Instagram or Facebook

Before we get to that, be sure to update your copy of TikTok [ App Store link ] manually by tapping your App Store profile picture, then scroll down to see pending updates. If you see TikTok listed, click the Refresh button. You can also use search to go to the TikTok page to see if you can update the app.

With the updated app running on your iPhone, navigate to your own story you want to post and tap on the three-dot menu. You’ll see familiar options that let you delete the story, save it as a video on your device, or change your privacy settings.

You should also see a new line filled with icons for popular social media apps like Facebook and Instagram. Specifically for Instagram, you can select Stories from the Share menu to post your TikTok story as an Instagram story. Other new options include posting a story to Reddit and copying a video link.
