Twisted Metal: Animated shoot that ends with Season 1

Filming for the television series Twisted Metal began on May 23 in New Orleans and was supposed to wrap up on September 2, but ended earlier than expected.

Twisted Metal is billed as a post-apocalyptic comedy starring Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and Will Arnett (BoJack Horseman) in NBCUniversal’s The Peacock with PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures Television/Sony Pictures Entertainment. It tells the story of a chatty loser who is offered a chance at a better life if he can deliver a mysterious package across the desert. Stephanie Beatrice (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Neve Campbell (Lincoln Lawyer) also appear in the PlayStation-licensed series, which is set to return as new opus on PS5 in the next few years.

Michael Jonathan Smith, showrunner, writer and executive producer of the television series Twisted Metal, says:

Well, here it is in the box with the first season of Twisted Metal. The cast and crew were exceptional. Despite lightning-fast delays, extreme heat, and cars that didn’t do what they were told, everyone tried their best to make Twisted Metal as entertaining as possible. The last day of filming was like the last day at camp: lots of laughter, a few tears, and serving ice cream in the back of a Sweet Tooth truck. We all can’t wait for you to see this madness that we spent the summer filming. Now for the assembly!

Twisted Metal broadcast on Peacock in 2022 or 2023.

Anthony Mackie and Michael Jonathan Smith, executive producers of Twisted Metal with Kitao Sakurai who directed several episodes, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Will Arnett and Mark Foreman through Electric Avenue production company, Jason Spire of Inspire Entertainment, Peter Principato of Artists First, Asad Kyzylbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions, and Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios (Sony Interactive Entertainment).
