Land of Women: An adaptation of the series with Eva Longoria and Carmen Maura

Sandra Barneda’s best-selling book will be featured on the small screen of the Apple TV+ streaming platform.

Created and written by Ramon Campos (Gran Hotel, Velvet) and Hema R. Neira (Now and Then, Alta Mar) and currently in pre-production in Spain, Land of Women is a comedy-drama comedy starring Eva Longoria as Gala, a New Yorker whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial embezzlement and she is forced to flee the city with her aging mother and student daughter.

To escape dangerous criminals indebted to Gala’s missing husband, the three women hide out in the same charming northern Spanish wine town where Gala’s mother (played by Carmen Mora) fled some time ago, 50 years ago, vowing never to return. The women are looking for a fresh start and hope their identities remain unknown, but word spreads quickly in the small town, revealing their family’s deepest secrets and truth.

Created by showrunner Ramon Campos, Teresa Fernandez-Valdez, Ben Spector and Eva Longoria through his production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, Land of Women is a six-episode television series created for Apple TV+ by Bambu Studios. It will be filmed in English and Spanish and can be viewed in each language.
