American actress Sydney Sweeney will be Sony Pictures Entertainment’s new Barbarella in film.
After “Madame Web”, together with Dakota Johnson, Sony Pictures Entertainment again bets on Sydney Sweeney (“Everything sucks!”, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “Sharp Objects”, “Euphoria”) in a modern version of “Barbarella”. Based on the French comic book series by Jean-Claude Forest, the 1968 film directed by Roger Vadim follows a 41st century astronaut who must find and stop the evil scientist Duran Duran, whose positron beam threatened to bring evil back to the world.
