Gran Turismo: Orlando Bloom Joins the Cast

Sony Pictures Entertainment and PlayStation Productions are betting on British actor Orlando Bloom for the film adaptation of Gran Turismo.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp and written by Jason Hall and Zach Bailan, Gran Turismo film starring Archie Madekwe, David Harbor and Orlando Bloom. Described as a fantasy about a teenager playing Gran Turismo who wins a Nissan competition before becoming a real race car driver, the film is a gripping story that will premiere in theaters on August 11, 2023.

With that in mind, the Sony Pictures Entertainment and PlayStation Productions adaptation of Gran Turismo will be based on the Nissan GT Academy competition, which ran from 2008 to 2016 and gave winners the opportunity to join the program. British driver Yann Mardenborough is GT Academy’s most notable achievement. He won in 2011 and has since competed in the GP3 series, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Japanese Super GT series.
