Apple says excessive requests for privacy permissions in iOS 16 when pasting from the system clipboard is a bug that will be fixed in the next software update.

These clipboard paste permission requests are an error

iOS 16 has a new privacy permission prompt that pops up when you first try to paste something from one app into another.
This feature was supposed to shame apps that secretly steal any data from the system clipboard, but for some it doesn’t work as intended. To make matters worse, Apple didn’t provide a toggle in the iOS 16 Settings app to disable these hints.
This function is supposed to let you know if an application is trying to retrieve content from the system clipboard without user intervention. iOS 16 should not prompt you for permission when manually selecting Paste from the menu.
Don’t worry, there will be a fix soon
An unnamed Apple executive acknowledged the issue, telling MacRumors that these excessive permission requests are “unexpected behavior”. A report from the Wall Street Journal notes that the iPhone maker will fix this annoying bug with an upcoming software update due next week.
An Apple engineer also told The Verge that “we’ll get to the bottom of it.”
As iDB previously reported, this update will also fix the camera shake issue in third-party apps and the weird rattling sound coming from the rear cameras on the iPhone 14 Pros. iOS 16 was released earlier this month and Apple has already released iOS 16.0.1, an update to fix iPhone 14 activation bugs.
So both the camera shake issue and the incessant clipboard permission requests are likely to be resolved in iOS 16.0.2.
