Since its release in 2001, Super Smash Bros. Melee has always had the same roster of 26 iconic Nintendo characters. If you’re a melee fan, you know this list by heart. But few people know that the roster actually has an additional “character”from the Nintendo family: none other than Créa-Main (Master Hand).

For those who don’t know, this is the main enemy of Smash Bros. While there is little in common between the five main games, Create-Main has been around since the beginning: it is the single-player final boss in Smash Bros. original, as well as classic mode Melee, Brawl, Smash Bros. 4, and also, to a lesser extent, Ultimate. He also plays a big role in The Subspace Emissary in Brawl and World of Light in Ultimate.
In truth, Master Hand is the first character to appear in Smash Bros. – When you launch the original game on the N64, the opening scene has Master Hand placing Yoshi doll and Samus doll on the table, counting down, and then snapping his fingers to officially start the fight.
Care is not the easiest
While Cre-Main has always had a role in the Smash Bros. license, he has never been a character to fight with. No matter how many fights, no matter how many game modes are completed, Master Hand has never been an unlockable character received as a reward. You will need two controllers, one as Player 1 and one as Player 3. Then go to VS. Mode, then Melee. Select any character for Player 1, then hover over the back button in the top right corner of the screen. For player 3, do not select a character: select an empty section for P3, then hover over the “Enter name”option. Finally, press the A button on both controllers at the same time. If you can choose a level, voila. Select your arena and Create-Hand will appear as Player 3.

Unfortunately, the control options are very limited. You can’t move the Master Hand too much, but you can use the D-Pad and various buttons on the GameCube controller. And the best thing about it all is that Master Hand can’t die. In other words, you will win every time. So you won’t be able to play with him in your tournaments, but you can surprise your friends. Firstly, they will be delighted to learn something new about hand-to-hand combat before they become angry because they constantly lose.
