How to disable or enable AirPods Pro 2 charging case sounds

The recently released Apple AirPods Pro 2 offer many more features than their predecessors. One significant upgrade exclusive to the new headphones is the charging case. It now has a speaker that plays an audible alert for certain alerts.

Just in case you find the AirPods Pro 2 charging case sound notification unnecessary and distracting, you can always turn it off. Here’s how to do it.

What do AirPods Pro 2 charging case sounds indicate?

Apple has added a number of new features to the AirPods Pro 2 with the more powerful H2 chip. It has improved sound quality and enhanced 3D listening experience with personalized spatial sound.

You can also easily find your AirPod Pro 2. Unlike other models, you can see the location of each of your earbuds and charging case separately in the Find My app.

But what sets the AirPods Pro 2 apart from its predecessor are the upgrades that Apple has added to the case. U1’s new technology allows you to track your charging case with Precision Finding via Find My.

In addition, the redesigned AirPods Pro 2 now has a built-in speaker at the bottom of the case, making it easier to find it when playing loud sounds. The speaker also beeps when:

  • Charging has started.
  • You connect it to the device.
  • Your AirPods Pro 2 battery is low.

How to turn off AirPods Pro 2 charging case sounds

  1. Make sure your AirPods Pro 2 are paired and connected to your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Go to settings.
  3. Tap AirPods Pro 2 [your name] right below your name.
  4. Scroll down until you find “Enable Charger Sounds”which is enabled by default. Turn it off.
