Watchlists in the Stocks app – create, rename, rearrange or delete
The Stocks app on iPhone lets you create a watchlist where you can follow the various stocks you’ve invested in. Even if you haven’t invested in any stocks but want to keep up to date with stock prices, the watchlist feature can be very handy.
With this app, you can check individual stocks and their exchanges. Other than that, it is relatively easy to check other aspects such as open, price/earnings, news, price charts, and various highs or lows. So let’s dig deeper and learn more about how to check stocks on your iPhone!
Create a stock list
Creating your own watchlist in the Stocks app is easy. Do the following:
- Open the Stocks app on your iPhone.
- Click on the “My Symbols”option in the top half of the screen.
- From the drop-down menu, select the New Watchlist option.
- You will need to give the Watchlist a name. Enter a name of your choice.
- Select the “Save”option once you’ve finished naming your watchlist.
To switch between multiple watchlists, you can select the “My Symbols”option and select the desired watchlist. You can also click on the name of the current watchlist you are viewing and then select the watchlist you want to view.
Add characters to watchlist
The watchlist symbols help you track the performance of the companies or indices you follow. Here’s how you can add characters to your watchlist:
- Open the Stocks app on your iPhone.
- In the search bar, enter the name of the required symbol, fund, company, or index.
- Once you find the symbol you want, click on the plus sign (+) next to it. Then select Done.
You can also add a character from one watchlist to another. To do this, find the symbol you want to add and swipe it to the left. Tap the icon with three horizontal lines and select the watchlist you want to add the symbol to. After that, click Done.
Remove characters from watchlist
Once you’re done with a specific character on your watchlist, it’s fairly easy to remove it. All you have to do is find the character you no longer need and select the minus sign (-). The Trash option should appear and you can select it to delete the character.
If you have created a watchlist that contains a symbol that you no longer need, you can remove it by following the steps above. However, the same symbol will remain on the default watchlist under My Symbols.
Rename, reorder or delete stock listings
Whether you want to reorder your watchlist, rename it, or remove it entirely, the steps for all three are shown below:
