Our favorite news this week
Fugu15 jailbreak demo
Gifted security researcher Linus Henze took the stage at the Objective by the Sea security conference on Thursday to showcase his new fancy jailbreak Fugu15, which supports iOS 15.4.1 (public release) and iOS 15.5 beta 4 (beta release).
The jailbreak currently supports A12 and later devices, and support for older devices may be added in the future. It is a non-rooted jailbreak that can be installed via Safari and uses the Procursus bootloader with the Sileo package manager.
More information, including a video presentation broadcast, is available in our official news post on the topic.
Tweak Injection added to palera1n
The bootrom hardware exploit checkm8 is used again, but this time the star of the show is not checkra1n; rather, a tethered developer-focused jailbreak for iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.7 called Palara1n.
Just this week, Palera1n added support for Substitute-based tweaks for most supported A9-A11 devices running iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.3.1. The developers maintain a list of compatible jailbreak settings on GitHub so users know what will work and what won’t.
Because it is a tethered jailbreak and more difficult to install than traditional jailbreaks, it is only recommended for people who know what they are doing and not for the general public who prefer a graphical user interface for jailbreak installation.
You can learn more about Palera1n and its newfangled tweak injection support in our many posts on the subject.
Havoc Repo Theme and Cryptocurrency Support
Theme support has been added to the Havoc repository not only for jailbroken devices, but also for non-jailbroken devices. They can be installed using the Apple Shortcuts app, but they will be placed in the repository in the same way as the package for jailbroken devices.
In the same announcement, Havoc announced support for cryptocurrencies as forms of payment, as well as other improvements that will benefit both buyers and sellers on the platform.

Hack Sony PlayStation 5
Using a new Cryptogenic exploit, hackers managed to break into a year-old Sony PlayStation 5 firmware (version 4.03).
While the jailbreak does not include code execution or kernel trapping, it provides access to the debug menu, which is traditionally closed.

Legizmo Kincaid comes to palera1n
A new build of Legizmo Kincaid has been sent out to beta testers, which should be compatible not only with new tweak injection support from palera1n, but also with rootless dynamics approaching iOS 15 jailbreak with Odyssey Team’s upcoming Cheyote jailbreak and upcoming jailbreak Fugu15 by Linus Henze.
Legizmo Kincaid allows users to pair their 2022 Apple Watch or any Apple Watch running watchOS 9 with their legacy iPhone firmware such as iOS 14 or iOS 15. The add-on first gained popularity after being released to TrollStore on iOS 15 and iOS 14 jailbreaks. Most functions work without problems despite unofficial pairing support.

New “AirDrop Support”from TrollStore
TrollStore received an update to version 1.1.2 last week to support the new file extension. tipa.
According to the developer, AirDropping. ipa are not possible, so he always renamed his AirDropped file types to. tipa.
Thanks to the newfangled support. tipa TrollStore can now automatically open these. tipa files after being removed by AirDropped without having to rename them back to. ipa files.
