Peaky Blinders Filming to Start in May 2023

Steven Knight has revealed when filming for the Peaky Blinders adaptation will begin.

Six months after the end of the television series directed by comedian Cillian Murphy, Peaky Blinders won the Best Drama Award at the 2022 National Television Awards held at OVO Arena Wembley in the United Kingdom. Invited to receive the award, Stephen Knight took the opportunity to set a production date for the film, which will focus on obscure World War II stories.

World War II based on Peaky Blinders

Stephen Knight is fascinated by World War II and wanted to explore the untold stories of that era:

I’ve had this idea in my head for a long time, the story of Pikis during World War II, and I chose three real stories to include in the film. True, secret and unknown stories about the Second World War, and I brought Peak into it. I’m still wondering because so much happened during World War II, there was so much death and destruction, so much that happened that wasn’t in the books. So those are the things I focus on.

“Peaky Blinders”will not return with the series

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is practically adamant that the story will only continue in the movies:

I haven’t read the script for the movie yet, but that’s the plan, the plan is to make the movie and continue the story, but in the film world, not on television. The TV part of the story is over. If there are more stories to tell, I’m here. I haven’t read it yet, but it looks like it’s close.
