How to beat DJ Octavio in Splatoon 3
As mentioned earlier, the boss fight will be divided into three stages, which will subsequently be difficult. You will see an Octarian boss fully equipped with his Octobot King L3.Gs mecha suit and X-shaped scar. So let’s look at each of these steps in more detail.
DJ Octavio Boss Fight Phase 1
- As soon as the fight begins, DJ Octavio will launch his giant steel fists. You need to keep damaging those fists with your ink to damage him.
- We suggest not to stand between the line of fire. You can dodge or step back to avoid his attacks.
- You need to spam him with ink to damage his mechanized punches and fists.

- Once you deal enough damage, he will pull out his Drill.
- This attack will dismantle his mechanical arm and plunge it into the ground.
- You can either dodge the drill or roll over and perform a squid roll to blend in with the ink.
- Alternatively, you can also keep shooting Drill until it flies back into his suit.
- He will keep attacking you with his steel fists and drill. But once he takes enough damage, he will fall off his mecha suit.
- You need to keep attacking to damage him and move on to the next phase.
Splatoon 3 DJ Octavio Boss Fight Phase 2
The second phase will serve as a checkpoint for the battle.
- At this point, Octavio will vacuum all the ink around.
- He will keep throwing his mecha fists and drills in your path.
- Just like the previous step, you need to keep dodging them and spamming them.
- To stop his vacuum attack, you need to throw your companion Smallfry. You can do this by pressing the R button.
- When you leave your companion, he won’t be able to vacuum your ink.
- DJ Octavio will continue to damage you with his fists and drill.
- Once you deal enough damage to him, he will launch your Little Freak and fall out of his Octobot mecha suit.
- You then need to keep attacking him until he returns to his suit.
DJ Octavio Boss Fight Phase 3
The third phase will also serve as a checkpoint for the boss fight. Due to taking such damage, DJ Octavio will go crazy and be angrier than usual in this phase.
- Soon enough, you’ll see a giant hand above you hitting the ground.
- You need to dodge or move in a different direction to avoid damage.
- When you repeatedly attack this giant hand with ink, it will emit purple ink. You can jump over them or perform a squid roll.
- One of his other attacks involves drilling into the ground with a giant fist that extends his fingers.
- Once you deal enough damage to him, DJ Octavio will fall out of his mechanized suit.
- You need to shoot him again to end the phase and defeat DJ Octavio.
