Splatoon 3 Tricolor Battles: what they are and how to join them

Splatoon 3 is a Nintendo-exclusive fast-paced video game in which you have to participate in multiple battles and matches. One of them includes the Tricolor Turf battle, which can only be played during Splatfest events. But some players do not understand this combat mode and how to participate in it. So here is our guide that explains what Tricolor Battles are in Splatoon 3 and how to join them.

What are Tricolor Battles in Splatoon 3

Tricolor Turf Battles are three-minute battle modes that can only be played during the second half of the Splafest events. During the announcement of the break report, Deep Cutt will name the leading and runner-up team. Just like in lawn wars, you need to paint over most of the lawn to win them. But for these battles, the players are divided into three teams.

How to join the tricolor turf war

Follow these steps:

  • Go to the lobby and press the L button. Scroll down and select the Tricolor Turf Battle option from the list.
  • As mentioned earlier, the players will be divided into three teams. The winning team will be determined by the Splatfest break report.
  • This is a three-minute combat mode that involves eight players.
  • While the winning or leading team will have four players, the remaining two teams will have two players each.
  • These teams need to get an Ultra Signal from the middle of the field.
  • However, these teams can also splatter each other with ink or work together.
  • Speaking of Ultra Signal, all teams must touch the beacon and secure it.
  • If the other two teams don’t touch the beacon in time, it will activate the Doom Sprinkler.
  • As the name suggests, this weapon can splatter ink all over the lawn.
  • This gives the Ultra Signal team a much greater advantage.
  • For each of the “Tricolor Battle”modes, two “Ultrasignal”beacons are provided.
  • Thus, the two teams can either fight each other or use a strategy to protect both beacons.
  • Instead of smearing commands, we suggest fixing the sprinkler and covering the lawn with ink.

Once the Tricolor Battles have been completed, Deep Cutt will announce the winner of the Splatfest Event. All teams participating in these battles will receive Super Sea snails. You can exchange them for ability blocks or additional slots.

That’s it for Tricolor battles in Splatoon 3 and how to join them.
