Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 – What does Graves want?

Commander Philip Graves is an important character in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. He is the CEO of Shadow Company and will be your ally in many missions. But everything turns out differently. Before we get started on what Graves wants from MW2, SPOILER WARNING. Continue if you haven’t completed the game or don’t want to learn Graves’ secrets before the campaign ends.

Why did Graves betray his friends?

If you’ve beaten the game or completed the last missions, you’ll see Graves getting a little out of hand. He kills civilians and hides many secrets. In the 12th mission of Dark Water, Graves travels with the Shadow Company to an abandoned oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. In this mission, you will take control of the rocket and reassign its target to the launcher itself, the missile destroys the launcher. Then comes the next mission, Alone.

Mission: One – Graves takes over the headquarters

In the 13th mission “Singleman”in the cutscene, Graves takes over the headquarters of the Fuerzas Especiales in Las Almas and imprisons a Mexican SWAT soldier. Here begins the story of betrayal, Graves also attacks his allies. He begins by saying that the team is relieved of their duties. Deep down, Graves planned to kill everyone in the group. That’s why?

Shepherd’s Secret: Three Ballistic Missiles

To understand this, we’ll have to go through a little backstory explored by Kate Laswell. She discovers a convoy abandoned by General Shepherd to deliver three American-made basalt rockets to Allies fighting the Russians in the Middle East. But things don’t go as planned, the Russians learn of Shepherd’s plan and attack the convoy. They killed all the soldiers in the squad, stole the rockets and gave them to Hassan.

General Shepherd buried the incident as it was not recorded because the convoy was illegal. This was planned by the general, but he doesn’t want anyone to know about it. The intention was to help the allies in the Middle East against the Russians. But since the convoy was robbed, General Shepherd’s position was compromised. At any cost, he wants to return the rocket and use it to destroy all evidence related to the mission.

Cause of Commander Graves’ betrayal

Two of the three rockets were found, Hassan had one. General Shepard assigned Commander Graves to lead the mission along with a squad of Shadow Company. During the mission, Graves acted on Shepherd’s orders, destroying any evidence that might reveal the secret. So he was simply acting on General Shepherd’s orders.

Based on the incident, it is clear that General Shepherd had already instructed Commander Graves to first retrieve the missile and then kill all squad members associated with the mission. At the end of the campaign, while talking to John Price, General Shepherd reveals that Commander Graves is a dog with a bone. The proposals bring more clarity to the connection between General Shepherd and Commander Graves.
