If you’ve played the previous version of this game, you’ve probably come across the Traveler mini-boss. The Adventurer Champion is a stronger version of this enemy. You will encounter him while performing the Curse of Sigrun service. Along with his bestial strength, this boss is armed with a huge shield that makes him hard to defeat. Although he may seem slow, a blow from his huge sword can deal a lot of damage. Make sure you study his attack patterns as he has attacks that you can block or parry. But at the end of his combo, he will attack you with an unblockable blow. As the name suggests, you cannot block or parry this attack. But if you’re fast enough, you can dodge this attack with a side step or roll.
Another thing to worry about when fighting this beast is its magical explosions. To activate this attack, he will hold the skull above his head. These explosions can deal significant damage if not handled properly.
Tips for defeating this boss
In order to defeat the Traveler Champion, you need to get close to him. Ranged attacks won’t work as he will block them with his shield.
- Attack him with a series of strikes and roll to the side whenever he attacks.
- Hitting him on the back will be useless because of his shield. This will make you back down.
- Make sure you hit the skull with a ranged attack with Chaos Blades or Ax Throw.
- To deal with magical explosions, hit them with a ranged attack or use your blades to reflect them back at the Traveler.
- These explosions have their own health bar and release shockwaves after the bar is depleted. Be careful and keep your distance from them.
- Use Atreus’ arrows to deal more damage.
- Don’t forget to use Spartan Rage to deal a lot of damage right away.
