God Of War Ragnarok: How To Get All Shields

God of War Ragnarok is finally here with a plethora of weapons, armor and other gear for Kratos and Atreus. While there is no way to suppress the Ghost of Sparta, equipping shields can come in handy when fighting huge, powerful opponents. You have to balance his offense as well as his defense. How to Get All God of War Ragnarok Shields

There are five shields in total that you can find as you progress through GoW Ragnarok. You can either buy them or get them as loot for defeating bosses. While some of the shields offer parry bonuses, some offer bonuses for hitting enemies with the shields. Depending on your playstyle, you can use these shields to gain multiple buffs or bonuses. You can upgrade all shields to max level 9 using various resources and Hacksilver.

Listed below are all the shields you can unlock and equip for Kratos:

  • Guardian’s Shield
  • Fearless Shield
  • stone shield
  • Break the star shield
  • Onslaught Shield

How to get the Guardian Shield in GoW Ragnarok

  • You can get the Guardian Shield at the start of the Surviving Fimbulwinter Story quest.
  • This is the shield Faye gave Kratos for their anniversary. But this shield is badly damaged during his confrontation with the thunder god Thor.
  • Because of this, the Guardian Shield will be listed as broken and unable to block any attacks.
  • You can repair this shield by talking to Brock at the start of the World of Just History quest.
  • After you repair this shield, you can upgrade it to max level 9 to increase its defense.

How to get Fearless Shield

  • You can get this shield by crafting it in Huldra’s workshop.
  • If you choose to craft the Dauntless Shield at the end of the Surviving Fimbulwinter story quest, you can get it for free.
  • Alternatively, you can also craft it later at Huldra’s Workshop for 750 Hacksilver and 1 Slag Deposit.
  • This shield is perfect for parrying and offers an attack or Shield Bash perk. But to unlock this perk, you need to upgrade it to level 3.
  • You can upgrade Fearless Shield to level 3 in exchange for 1000 Hacksilver and 8 slag deposits.
  • Once upgraded, you can press the L1 button twice to use this attack against your enemies.

How to get Stone Wall Shield in GoW Ragnarok

  • Stonewall Shield is perfect for dealing damage while charging for a Shield Slam attack.
  • You can craft this shield at Huldra’s workshop. Similar to the Dauntless shield, you can get it for free or buy it for 750 Hacksilver and 1 slag deposit.
  • This shield gives Kratos the Shield Slam ability to attack his enemies.
  • But for this you need to upgrade it to level 3. For this you need 1000 Hacksilver and 8 slag deposits.
  • After you upgrade the Stone Shield, you can press the L1 button twice to use this ability.

How to get Shatter Star Shield

  • You can travel to Vanaheim during the A Story of Reckoning quest to find this shield. This shield is located in the Abandoned Village as you progress through the story quests.
  • This shield offers a “Shield Bash”perk that can knock back your enemies when fully charged.
  • You need to hold the L1 button to charge this attack. After charging, release the button to use this attack.
  • You must use it right before the enemy hits you to absorb the charge.
  • In addition to this, you can upgrade Shatter Star’s shield to a maximum of 9 levels.

How to get the Onslaught Shield in God of War Ragnarok

  • You can find the Onslaught Shield by looting the Legendary Chest in the Helheim region. As you progress through the Reunion Story quest, you will find a wooden legendary chest right after defeating Garm.
  • In addition, you can buy the Onslaught Shield from the blacksmith shop for 7500 Hacksilver.
  • This shield offers the attack or ability Kratos the Shield Rush.
  • This perk strikes the perfect balance between offense and defense. This is because with this perk, you can advance towards enemies while blocking their incoming attacks.
  • Like other shields, you can upgrade this shield up to a maximum of 9 levels.
