How to get the new Google Live Bloom wallpaper on your Pixel

If you have a Google Pixel 4a or newer, you can explore new live wallpapers not found on other Android devices.

Since the launch of the Pixel Feature Drop in December 2019, Google has been giving Pixel owners a new feature every three months. A new collection of Live Bloom wallpapers featuring photos of vibrant flowers was released with the December 2022 Pixel Feature Drop. This live wallpaper also has a 3D effect where the flowers seem to “move and sway”when you tilt your device or swipe your home screen.

Unlike many of the new Pixel Feature Drop items, you won’t find Bloom live wallpapers once you update Android on your device. Instead, you will have to use the Google Pixel Live Wallpaper app to get those dazzling new backgrounds.

Step 1Update Pixel Live Wallpaper

New wallpapers for Pixel devices are delivered via an update to the Pixel Live Wallpaper app, not via an operating system update. For the Live Bloom collection, you need at least app version 2.0 (9355839) on Pixel 4a or later with Android 12 or later. Click the link below to update or install Pixel Live Wallpaper via the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Open the Wallpaper Picker

After updating the application, go to the main screen. Tap and hold on the background image to open the pop-up menu, then tap Wallpaper & Style, then tap Change Wallpaper.

Step 3: Download and Install Flower Live Wallpaper

Find the Live Bloom category and tap it. You will find four thumbnails with a loading symbol. Select the one you want, then click the download button on the bottom right corner to save it to your device. When the download is complete, a checkmark will appear instead of the download button. Click to set wallpaper.

Step 4Use Your New Live Bloom Wallpaper

Now all that’s left to do is go to the home screen and give it a try. Tilt your device or flick through home screens; The background should move in response to the movement of your device, just like other live wallpapers.
