The massive Cooler Master workstation is an extravagant alternative to tables.

When is an office or gaming chair bigger than a seat? When it’s a whole mechanical capsule, equipped with monitors, wireless charging, USB ports and more RGB LEDs than our personal best (zero).

As of today, Cooler Master is allowing people to sign up for a waitlist for its Orb X “multipurpose station”. Waitlist registration is still a few steps away from pre-orders or even a release date for the chair that Cooler Master first started teasing in 2021. However, it shows that Cooler Master is still serious about releasing their workstation that looks like it was ripped out of science. fantastic movie before passing through the lair of the gamer.

But Cooler Master doesn’t limit Orb X’s potential to just gamers. Today’s announcement says that it has developed the module “for gamers and professionals”and that its isolating spherical design can help people “stay productive.”

There is a lot of technology in the workstation that is used in many people’s offices today. There’s support for a 34-inch monitor or three 27-inch monitors, as well as space to plug in a laptop or console, depending on how you prefer to work or play.

There’s also a USB hub with four USB-A ports and two USB-C ports, including one with 60W. The dedicated area for the keyboard and mouse is covered with a cloth mouse pad as well as a wireless charging area.

Cooler Master claims that the battlestation provides surround sound thanks to an audio system that includes two 2-inch tweeters, a 5-inch woofer, and two 2-inch speakers.

Oh, and there is a chair in this capsule! This is a leather sofa that reclines and has an adjustable headrest and, perhaps most interestingly, a footrest.

While this seating arrangement is one of the most striking in history, Cooler Master says the Orb X is designed to create a “private environment.”Orb X, as Cooler Master describes it, has “a fully automated dome with a motorized shuttle that keeps users away from distractions and provides uninterrupted privacy.”

But while the person in the cockpit may be disconnected from the world, those outside are sure to turn their attention to the workstation. Cooler Master claims “sleek and futuristic appearance.. . can be suitable for any occasion, such as business, entertainment or gaming.” But something tells us that it will stand out wherever you place it.

However, to help your imagination, Cooler Master has shared an image of this thing in the office – as discreet as it gets.

And if the chair isn’t unique enough for you, there’s RGB to help your 74.1″x 74.3″x 82.2″throne draw more attention.

It’s increasingly likely that this won’t be available to most people, when Cooler Master first teased its performance module, it told Tom’s Hardware that it would “probably”cost between $12,000 and $14,000; however, there was no update on the final price.

With these potential prices, sizes, and features, the performance capsule/giant gamer could end up in malls, storefronts, arcades, and trade shows.

But that doesn’t mean there won’t be some Bruce Wayne-style personalities vying for the throne for their own use. And other suppliers are already playing in this space. While similarly designed battle stations like Acer’s Predator Thronos and Predator Thronos Air aren’t exactly on the shelves, offerings like MWE Lab’s Emperor chairs have been around since 2007, reaching $50 in 2013. 000 dollars.

None of MWE Lab’s current offerings have a pod surrounding you to work or play, but the company does offer support for multiple monitors connected to a reclining chair. For example, the three-monitor ePod costs $3,575, while its round (but not spherical) Emperor XT, which supports three monitors, costs $ 5,645.
