Using the Photos app on an iPhone with older firmware can sometimes feel archaic because you won’t have access to information about the file, such as image resolution or file size.
Luckily, a new free jailbreak tweak called PhotosInfo by iOS developer ljinc can bring these features and more to the Photos app on pwned phones running iOS 11 and later.
Once PhotosInfo is installed, you can click on the title bar when viewing any image in the Photos app to bring up a pop-up window with standard information about that image. The pop-up window currently displays the following information:
- File location when viewed in a file manager app like Filza
- Image file name
- Image Resolution
- Image file size
This works with screenshots, photos, and even random images you save from the web, group chats, or other third-party apps. However, the only thing you need to keep in mind is that the setting only works if you have saved the image in the Photos app.
Without any options to tweak, PhotosInfo is a serious jailbreak tweak that adds useful information to your Photos app, and for that we can recommend it if you always find yourself needing that information and then you can’t, because that the Photos app doesn’t support it natively (at least on older versions of iOS).
