God of War Ragnarok is finally out with a lot of new game elements and mechanics. The realm of Muspelheim has also returned to GoW. Like the previous God of War (2018), you unlock it later with two seed halves in GoW Ragnarok. When you find these seed halves, you will unlock additional Muspelheim and Crucible quests. Muspelheim Seed Locations in God of War Ragnarok – How to Unlock Crucible
You can find both halves of Muspelheim seeds in Svartalheim in GoW Ragnarok. You can find the first half at the Modwitnir Rig and the second half east of Dragon Beach. So, here’s how to get to the first half of Muspelheim’s seed:
Location of the first half of Muspelheim’s seed
You can find the first half of the Muspelheim seed in Bounty Cove. You can get this seed in the legendary chest as you progress through the main quest “In Search of Tyr”.
- When you get to Bounty Bay, head to the west shore to find Modwitnir’s drilling rig.
- When you get there, go up to the wooden structure on the right to find a legendary chest.
- You need to throw your Leviathan Ax onto the rotating lever to open a path to the wooden platform. Then go upstairs to find the legendary chest.
- Finally, open the chest to get the first half of Musfelheim’s seed.

- You will face several Beast type enemies such as the Wild Rascals upstairs. But defeating them should be a cakewalk for Kratos.
Location of the second half of Muspelheim’s seed
You can find the other half of Muspelheim’s seed in Alberich’s Hollow in Svartalfheim. Even though both parts are in Svartalfheim, you need to complete the Forging Destiny story quest to get this one. This is because you need to get Draupnir’s Spear and unlock the Dragon Beach region.
- Head to the Bay of Bounty region, but this time head east.
- Once you reach Dragon Beach, you need to head east where you can encounter some Grims and Tazelwurms.
- Climb up using the stretched chain to your left. Then use Draupnir’s Spear to climb up.
- Go left and swing to the opposite side of the wooden platform. After that, you just need to keep moving to the left.
- As you pass through the cave, you will notice a legendary chest hidden in the bushes. You can use the incendiary bomb that can be found nearby to detonate it.
- Then open the chest to get the other half of the Muspelheim Seed.
How to unlock Crucible in GoW Ragnarok
Once you find both halves of Muspelheim’s seed, you will unlock the Crubile quests. You can use any Mystic Gateway to get to Muspelheim or Crucible quests. This is a series of challenging challenges offered by Surtur to test your skills. You can find these quests in the Favors section. By completing these quests, you can also earn several rewards and resources for crafting Muspelheim armor.
