How to drain the pond on Ares Island in Sonic Frontiers
After a short cutscene by the pond, you will be tasked with draining the pond using the seal above it. If you explore the edge of the lake, you will notice two things: a huge cannon and a big bomb. Your goal for now is to charge the bomb and load it into the cannon. To do this, approach the bomb and use the Cyclops ability around it. This will arm the bomb and you will be able to carry it. But now you will see a 30 second timer during which you must complete this task. To drain water from Ares Island in Sonic Frontiers, load your gun and aim at the red diamond on the seal. Then fire the gun and the diamond will turn blue. Then a huge chain will rise along with a plug draining the pond. Note that you must do all of this within 30 seconds or the bomb will explode.
Many players reach the loading section and then shoot at the chain itself. However, this will not deplete the water.
