Apple is constantly expanding its branded services and making them available to more users around the world. The most talked about feature of the Apple Watch Series 4, ECG, was once restricted to the US and some neighboring territories. However, since the launch of watchOS 7.6, Apple has made the feature available to more countries. Apple Watch ECG currently works in 147 countries.
What is an Apple Watch ECG?
The ECG feature is compatible with all Apple Watch devices from Series 4. Every two hours, the Irregular Heart Rate Notification feature checks your heart rate in the background and alerts you if it detects any irregularities. Thus, you can be alerted to potentially dangerous heart rhythms and move on to more serious violations.
You can check it with the built-in heart rate sensor and built-in heart rate app. Therefore, Apple wants more people to use this important and life-saving feature. Let’s move on to the list of countries where Apple Watch supports ECG.

Can I turn on the Apple Watch ECG feature in any country?
You cannot use this feature if you live outside of the aforementioned countries where Apple Watch ECG works. It was also believed that it could be installed by changing the country and region in the App Store, even in countries where it was not available. However, this was not destined to happen.
In fact, regulatory approval processes prevent it from being available everywhere. But seeing the speed with which Apple launched the ECG app outside of the US, I can tell that it will cover other territories soon.
