The universes of Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Galaxy, Luigi’s Mansion or even Mario Kart will be featured in The Super Mario Bros Movie.
In the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros Movie, Mario (played by Chris Pratt) enters the arena with a cheering crowd where he battles Donkey Kong in the first trailer for Super Mario Bros Movie. A mustachioed plumber once known as Jumpman jumps onto a platform and the great ape catches him mid-air before punching him several times in front of Princess Peach Anya Taylor Joy and members of the Mushroom Kingdom.

While the Machiavellian ogre Bowser (voiced by Jack Black) and his Koop army hold off Luigi, “I’ve got a problem, there’s a man with a mustache like yours,”the Mushroom Kingdom’s princess admits to Toad, the little mushroom man, that there is a “vast universe with many galaxies”outside the castle.

Super Mario Bros will be released in theaters on March 29, 2023 in France, April 7, 2023 in North America, and April 28, 2023 in Japan.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Chief Creative Officer of Nintendo, explains the new character design for Donkey Kong, played by Canadian comedian Seth Rogen:
It’s been over 40 years since the very first Donkey Kong game was released, which was also the first game I worked on. We decided to redesign it for the first time since it went 3D in the first Donkey Kong Country game. You may have noticed that we took the opportunity for this animated film to give it a comedic feel and a design reminiscent of its original version.
