The new film adaptation of Silent Hill will be a reboot based on the story of Silent Hill 2.
Led by Christoph Hans (The Brotherhood of the Wolf, Saint Ange, Beauty and the Beast), director of the 2006 Silent Hill film, Return to Silent Hill will follow a similar story to Silent Hill 2, in in which a man travels to the city of Silent Hill in search of the missing love of his life. Instead, he discovers a true nightmare of monsters and horrors, including the infamous Pyramid Head, one of the franchise’s most famous and recognizable characters.

Rui Naito, Head of Silent Hill Intellectual Property and Cross-Media Development at Konami, revealed that the Silent Hill 2 remake and the new movie “Return to Silent Hill”are the result of a suggestion from Victor Hadida, one of the game’s producers. Silent Hill 2006 The latter invited director Christoph Gans and himself to renew their collaboration, which brought the first film a box office success. This suggestion prompted Japanese publisher Konami to set about creating a remake of Silent Hill 2 to accompany the new film in theaters.
