The Youtube mobile app, which has been the victim of repeated crashes on iOS, has quickly returned to normal.
Smartphones are ubiquitous in our daily lives, so the slightest problem on the network or on the server can be very, very inconvenient. And if, in addition, the problems concern an extremely popular application or service, dissatisfaction builds up quickly, sometimes from all over the world. For several hours, YouTube was acting up, especially on iOS devices.
Youtube mobile app has been the victim of repeated crashes on iOS
Mountain View has been actively working to fix a bug in its YouTube mobile app that was causing it to crash repeatedly for some users. “Hi, we are aware that many of those who use the YouTube app on iOS devices may experience crashes,” Google wrote in a tweet spotted by The Verge.
“We are very sorry about all this and have started working on a fix! News coming soon.”At the time of writing, the incident is closed, but the American giant did not elaborate on the reasons for these repeated crashes for users of the iOS app.
The situation was quickly resolved
Although it did not last very long, it was also difficult to assess the extent of the problems. If you have an iOS device and use iOS regularly, you might be facing some issues. Or maybe not. Indeed, some videos seemed to play without issue, while others caused the entire app to crash.
In any case, the incident was resolved by the Google team around midnight French time. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen again.
