Destiny 2: How to Get Winterbite (Exotic Glaive)

Glaives were introduced during the Witch Queen story expansion in Destiny 2. Since then, they have come into vogue and have been used by several Guardians. Winterbite is the latest addition to the Glaives collection since the release of the Lightfall campaign. One of the main features of this weapon is that it fires a floating ball that can freeze enemies around you. It deals stasis damage and can be equipped in a power weapon slot. But there are some prerequisites for obtaining this weapon. This may take a little time, as it will take at least three days to obtain this weapon. So, check out our guide on how to get Winterbite in Destiny 2.

How to get Winter’s Bite in Destiny 2

Before we begin, you must complete the Lightfall campaign in order to obtain the Strider quests that reward Winterbite. After completing the campaign, head to the Wall of Heroes and speak with Archivist Quinn Lagary. But Quinn will not immediately entrust you with Strider quests. Instead, you need to complete the “Welcome to the Hall of Heroes”quest and three memorial quests to get it. These memorial quests are Stargazer, Maelstorm and Bluejay.

After completing all these quests, you will gain access and receive the Strider quest. So, follow these steps to get Winterbite in Destiny 2:

  • For the Strider quest, you need to complete the “Terminal Overload”activities in the three patrol areas in Neomun.
  • You must open three Terminal Overload key chests in the Neomun region in order to complete this quest.
  • But these patrol zones change every 24 hours. So, you have to wait a day to open chests with Terminal Overload keys.
  • These patrol zones always alternate in the following order respectively:
    • Zephyr Hall, Ahimsa Park and Laiming Harbor.
  • You can find these keys by opening chests in the Neomunas area or at the end of the Terminal Overload actions.
  • After opening all the chests in Terminal Overload, head to the Lost Sector Gilded Precept to collect the data cipher.
  • This Lost Sector is located to the right of Calus’ ship in Ahimsa Park. There you will also encounter some Shadow Legion enemies.
  • Although they are relatively easy to defeat, don’t forget to get the loot from the data cipher chest.
  • Then visit the Archivist, who will entrust you with another quest.
  • You must destroy the Hydras and close the confluxes in Maya’s Sanctuary.
  • Once you complete this last action, head to the Archivist and speak with her to receive the Winterbite exotic weapon.
