Curses are very effective on both the caster and Pokémon. For those who don’t know, Curse is a ghost-type status move that has different effects depending on your Pokemon type. In Pokémon games, there are TMs (Technical Machines) through which Pokémon learn new moves. However, such a TM does not occur in Scarlet or Violet. Does this mean there is no Curse TM in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet? Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Curse TM – do they exist?
There are 171 TM in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Unfortunately, none of them can teach Curse to any Pokémon. Other than that, there are a few Pokémon that can learn the curse status move by leveling up. For example, Pineco unlocks Curse Move when it reaches level 20. For reference, here is this list from Serebii that has Pokemon that can learn Curse Move in Scarlet & Violet.
How to teach curse movement in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
In addition to using TM, another Pokémon can teach the Pokémon the cursed move as an egg move. I wonder how? You can either breed two Pokémon or use a held Mirror Herb item. For reference, here is a guide that outlines the steps to learn the Pokemon Egg Move in Scarlet or Violet.
Note. Make sure you have a Pokémon that can learn a Curse by leveling up. Moreover, both Pokemon must be from the same egg group.
Also, keep in mind that when using the breeding method, the Pokémon that knows the Curse move must be male. Whereas, the Pokémon you want to teach to Curse must be female.
If using the other method, make sure Mirror Grass is on the Pokémon you want to teach Curse. Also, save an extra empty slot when using the Mirror Herb method.
