FingerLock 3.0 offers a new way to unlock jailbroken iOS 14-16 devices.

A few years ago, we showed you the FingerLock tweak from iOS developer MTAC. This setting allows the user to add a touch unlock mechanism to the lock screen to bypass the home button or home bar.

Using the tweak is easy. Instead of pressing the Home button or swiping up on the Home bar, users instead tap on the FingerLock icon that is added to the lock screen to unlock their phone.

Originally intended only for jailbroken iOS 11 and 12 devices, FingerLock was recently updated to version 3.0 with support for jailbroken iOS 14, 15 and 16 devices – basically everything most jailbreakers use today.

The update doesn’t just add support for new firmware, it’s clear that the developer has also fine-tuned the tweak’s user interface.

Compared to our original review, FingerLock now features a more expanded settings panel and a new quick settings feature that you can access from the lock screen by simply pressing and holding the FingerLock glyph on the lock screen.

In the settings panel, users can:

  • Enable or disable finger lock on demand
  • Choose your preferred FingerLock theme
  • Adjust glyph position using editor
  • Hide unlock text from lock screen
  • Hide page dots from lock screen
  • Hide glyph when phone is unlocked
  • Respring your device to save any changes you make

In the quick editor based on the lock screen, users will find the following additional options:

  • Adjust horizontal offset
  • Adjust vertical offset
  • Adjust Image Offsets
  • Choose a button theme

FingerLock is an interesting jailbreak tweak that changes the way you interact with the lock screen to go to the home screen.

If you’d like to try the tweak, you can download it for free from the Havoc repository through your favorite package management app. As we noted earlier, the tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14, 15, and 16 devices.
