This kingdom of bugs and nerds is home to some of the most interesting characters we’ve come across. Let’s take a look at the most important characters in Hollow Knight.
Hollow Knight Character Guide
Merchants
- Conifer is a map maker by profession, Conifer can be found in every new area you enter, ready to sell you a hand-drawn map for your travels.
- Iselda – Married to the cartographer Conifer, she runs a shop in Mudmouth where you can buy valuable equipment.
- Charm Lover Salubra – Sells amulets and charm sockets to the player from his shop in the empty village at Forgotten Crossing.
- Naismith – Can upgrade your only weapon, the Nail, to make it stronger. You can find his shop in the City of Tears.
- Leg Eater – Found among dead bugs in the Mushroom Wastes, he sells you fragile amulets that only he can fix when broken.
- Sly – This tiny bug can be found in the abandoned villages of Forgotten Crossing and infected with a mysterious disease, but there’s more to it than meets the eye.
- Little fool – meet him at the entrance to the Colosseum and pay the required entry fees.
- Millibelle the Banker – True to its name, it will store your geodata for safety.
- Relic Seeker Lemm. You can sell him any relic you find on your journey in exchange for geo in his shop in the City of Tears.
- Jiji’s Confessor – Hiding in a far corner of Mudmouth, she can conjure your Lost Shadow, but only takes Rancid Eggs in return.
- Soul of Steel Djinn – Replaces Confessor Jiji in Soul of Steel game mode. Just sits and looks at you.
- Took – can be found under the City of Tears in the Royal Waterways, look for treasure, sells your Rancid Eggs for Geo.
- The Last Deer – This old beast connects all areas of the game through his deer and provides the player with the ability to quickly move through the regions.
- Divine is part of the Grimm Troupe DLC and will upgrade your Fragile Charms to Unbreakable Charms for geo.
Travelers
- Cloth is a brave warrior on her own journey through the kingdom, who you will meet at different points in history.
- Quirrell is a charming explorer who uncovers the mysteries of Hollownest with his own hands.
- Tiso is an adventurer on his way to the Colosseum of Fools. He claims to have a few tricks up his sleeve when equipped with a shield.
- Zot the Mighty – A renowned warrior, the mighty Zot can be found trapped in various regions, waiting for the player to rescue him.
- The Hornet – A glimpse and a tricky boss fight (here’s a guide to defeating her) is how we meet the Hornet, who then becomes a reluctant ally. We’ll see more of her in Hollow Knight: Silksong (whenever it comes out).
Quest givers
- Dreamers – Consists of Monomon the Master, Lurien the Watcher, and Herra the Beast. Dreamers stand in your way of unraveling the truth about Hallownest.
- Gray Wailer – This cloaked stranger can be found in the Resting Grounds, waiting for someone to help her dead lover.
- Brett – Rescue her from the trap in the Mushroom Wastes to unlock her quest.
- Grubfather – Free these maggot children from their glass jars scattered throughout the kingdom and return to him for your reward.
- The Seer is a melancholic figure, she gives the player the Dream Nail and all of its weight.
- Hunter. He hides in the shadow of a cave on the Green Path. He hands you his hunter’s journal and orders you to complete the remaining pages.
- Brumm is part of the Grimm Troupe DLC and plays an important role in the unfolding story.
- Troupe Master Grimm – The leader of the Grimm Troupe sends the player to do his bidding, promising future rewards.
- Godseeker – Free her from the chains in the trash pit to unlock the Godmaster DLC.
- Manicurists Mato, Oro and Sheo – Meet these manicurists to unlock special moves for your nail.
