The American studio World’s Edge is responsible for the Xbox versions of the Microsoft Age of Empires games.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the acclaimed real-time strategy game, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will be available on January 31, 2023 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and Xbox Cloud Gaming (PC/Mobile). Age of Empires IV will be released during 2023 on the same media. If two opuses can be played with a controller, keyboard and mouse combinations will also be supported, as will crossplay.

Massive content on Xbox consoles for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
After nearly forty updates, three expansions, and many ongoing improvements thanks to the exemplary sequel to Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media and Wicked Witch since their 2019 release on PC, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (a remaster of Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings) has expanded with no less than 83 maps, 42 multiplayer civilizations, 34 single player campaigns, ten multiplayer modes, and seven cooperative campaigns.
2022 has been an incredible year for Age of Empires with over 25 updates released, over 15 in-game events (and great rewards associated with them), and over 14,000 mods created and released.
