AirPods Pro 2 with similar design leaked speaker holes and ‘Find Me’ strap in new design renders

Apple recently released its third generation AirPods. The new AirPods have undergone major changes from the first generation model, and now they are very similar to the AirPods Pro. There are also rumors that Apple will release the second generation AirPods Pro very soon. Although the company has yet to confirm an official launch date, rumors suggest that Apple’s Pro TWS will launch in Q2. Previous rumors have suggested that Apple will ditch the stem and release the new AirPods Pro 2 with a more rounded design. However, leaked images of the design suggest otherwise.

AirPods Pro 2 Design Leaked

According to a MacRumors report, the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 may still feature the same design as the current generation model. Citing an unverified source, images of the headphones and charging case are included in the report. It shows that the headphones have the same design with a headband and silicone tips. However, there is no optical sensor. The report says that Apple may have moved from optical sensors to skin detection sensors, as it did with the AirPods 3.

The charging case, however, is a little different. The case now has speaker openings on either side of the Lightning port at the bottom. The source states that Apple will likely add a Find Me feature to iOS 16 that allows users to separately play audio for the case. There is also a metal loop on the side, which will be the first of all AirPods released so far.

No other report has claimed that Apple will launch its Pro TWS with a bar design. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who maintains an excellent record on Apple leaks, has said a couple of times in the past that the AirPods Pro will be phased out next year. The Pro model is also said to get new motion sensors that will add new fitness features.
