Amazon will close all of its physical bookstores, affecting 68 locations.
When Amazon started its business, its goal was to revolutionize the traditional retail model by launching an online store that would allow people to buy whatever they want, wherever they are. The idea was great, the execution effective, and Amazon quickly became one of the largest online retailers in the US and around the world.
Amazon to close all of its physical bookstores
It is curious that, having forced out a number of competitors in the book sales segment, the American giant decided to open its own physical bookstores in order to further expand its activities in the market. However, it looks like the company has now changed its plans as Amazon will close its physical bookstores, according to a Reuters report.
Instead, the American giant will focus its efforts on its grocery stores and other concepts. In total, at least 68 establishments will be affected, but the company did not specify when these closures would take effect. Amazon explained that it is preparing a special message to inform customers about the closure of their stores.

Going to a physical store for shopping is not without interest. In the case of the bookstore, it even has a certain charm. You can also flip through books, which is much more efficient than looking at images of a book on the screen. On the other hand, it has the advantage that you can buy what you want and get it right away.
That being said, it may seem that this activity is not, or is no longer, profitable enough for Amazon, so it has opted to stop spending on it. The American giant, so to speak, tried to do this, and even if this fails, this leaves a reason for concern for the sector. ..
