Among Us VR is getting a release date

Among Us VR is coming November 10 on the Meta Quest 2 headset and on Steam. What about PlayStation VR?

After a little more than expected, VR is among us (almost done) so to speak. Innersloth, Schell Games and Robot Teddy have confirmed that the VR betrayal game will be available starting November 10th on the Meta Quest 2 headset and on Steam. At this stage, the announcement doesn’t mention a PlayStation VR version (Engadget asked Innersloth anyway), but it’s still important information if you’re hoping to freshen up the concept of this very popular game a bit.

Similar to the 2D version of the game, Among Us VR asks the participants to identify impostors before they kill everyone. However, switching to first-person view shakes up the gameplay a lot. Impostors now have a bit more room to develop among players, and gestures can be used to accuse others or try to prove one’s innocence. If you’ve played Among Us and are now getting a little bored with it, this VR version might be a reason to come back to it.

And “if”, of course, is important. Among Us has been a real hit during the pandemic. It was one of the most entertaining games one could play to keep in touch with friends, relatives, or complete strangers. And if the game still attracts many players, it is a far cry from the cult global phenomenon that it was in 2020. That being said, it can be a very good example of what virtual reality video games are capable of – you can interact with your friends while progressing in your virtual life.

See you on November 10th to discover this version of the iconic game. Will there be success?
