The company announced a new MacBook Air (M2) and a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chips. The main change in these devices is due to the new chipset, while the rest of the specifications and features remain the same as the latest generation devices.
The all-new 13-inch MacBook Pro is the successor to the 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro. As you might expect, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro is powered by the M2 chipset. The new MacBook Pro features a 13-inch Retina display with 500 nits of brightness and P3 wide color gamut. Looks like this model doesn’t get many design updates. Inside, the machine is powered by Apple’s own M2 chipset with unified LPDDR5 memory (RAM) up to 24GB. The M2 chip has four energy-saving and four high-performance cores. There is also a new 10-core GPU with increased L2 cache. CPU performance is 18% faster and GPU performance is 35% faster compared to M1 chip.
In terms of battery life, Apple claims that the new MacBook Pro (M2) can last up to 20 hours on a single charge. It also comes with a Thunderbolt bolt and it also supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
