Anonymous wants to shed light on the crimes of Do Kwon, a new mission that is causing controversy.
The Anonymous hacker group vowed to “enforce”Terra co-founder Do Kwon “as soon as possible”to be held accountable following the collapse of the Terra (LUNA) and TerraUSD (UST) ecosystems last May. Their statement of intent takes the form of a video in which Anonymous lists several of Do Kwon’s alleged wrongdoings.

In the video in question, we can especially hear, “Do Kwon, if you listen, unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage you have caused. For now, the only thing we can do is hold you accountable and ensure you face justice as soon as possible.”
“Anonymous has been reviewing Do Kwon’s entire history since his entry into the crypto space to see what we can learn and shed light on. […] There is no doubt that there are many more crimes to be solved on your devastating journey.” The group also criticizes Do Kwon for his “arrogant tactics”towards competitors and his many actions “as if he would never fail”.
New mission causing controversy
After posting this video, the community reaction was mixed. While some support this new mission, seeing it as the work of a “modern day Robin Hood,”others are much more critical, calling the video an empty threat: “Anonymous is so banal right now […] it’s almost weird to threaten,”the r/ subreddit reads. CryptoCurrency. “I expected them to find something, but it’s nothing more than, well, nothing,”said another.
Terraform Labs, co-founded by Do Kwon, is currently under several investigations, mostly by South Korean authorities, in particular over the theft of bitcoin (BTC) from the company’s cash. In May, South Korea reactivated a specialized investigation unit, the Yeouido Grim Reapers, to investigate the collapse of Terra. All Terraform Labs employees were even subpoenaed as part of this extensive investigation. The company has also already been fined $78 million by South Korea’s national tax agency for tax evasion.
