Anouk requires biometric or password authentication to access hidden album on locked iOS 15 devices.

User privacy is very important to many people, so it didn’t make much sense that Apple was waiting for iOS and iPadOS 16 to require biometric authentication before accessing a hidden album in the native Photos app.

Luckily for anyone who can be jailbroken on iOS or iPadOS 15 using Fugu15 Max or palera1n, iOS developer yandevelop has just released a new and free jailbreak tweak called Anouk that forces biometric authentication to access a hidden album in the Photos app.

The concept is certainly not new, as HiddenAlbum14 offered the same functionality for jailbroken installs of iOS and iPadOS 14 and older, but the latest release supports newer firmware just below iOS and iPadOS 16, which is where Apple introduced the feature originally.

For anyone wondering, Anouk does not support the XinaA15 jailbreak, which was recently deprecated by both the Sileo and Zebra teams and is currently being considered for termination due to the success of Fugu15 Max.

Anyone who wants to try Anouk can download the tweak for free from the Havoc repository via any package manager they can use. The tweak is only for locked iOS and iPadOS 15.X devices and is publicly available on the developer’s GitHub page.
