Apple is officially introducing iOS 16 this Monday, September 12th with its iPhone 14. Like every year, the question is whether one or the other model is compatible.
Apple officially unveiled its iPhone 14 a few days ago during the Far Out event. This new smartphone will run on iOS 16, the new major version of the Apple brand mobile OS, which will be available on September 12th. But is your iPhone compatible?
Like every year, not all iPhones on the market will be eligible for this new version of iOS. Therefore, some will not be able to receive the update, especially the oldest devices. How to find out what model of iPhone you have
If you’re not sure which iPhone you have, it’s easy to find out by going to Settings.
To do this, open Settings and select General > About. Then next to “Model Name”you should see the model of your iPhone. Just below you will see “Model Number”, you can use this information to get more details, such as storage capacity, commissioning year, etc., but there is no need (for iPhone SE only) to know if it is compatible whether your phone. since iOS 16.
What about iPhones like the iPhone 7 Plus and earlier?
Unfortunately, not all iPhones released before iPhone 8 will be eligible for iOS 6. This is especially true for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Many Twitter users were surprised by this decision, expecting the iPhone 7 Plus to be at least compatible. Therefore, the iPhone 7 and earlier models will have to bypass iOS 15.
Will my iPad work with iOS 16?
The iPad has its own version of iOS 16 called iPadOS 16. This version will be compatible with the following devices:
