Apple might include color-matched and braided USB-C to USB-C cables with iPhone 15

Apple has not announced the date on which it will hold the fall event to announce new iPhones. However, going by the past events, we can expect the Cupertino-based company to send out invites any time and the fall event could be held sometime in the second or third week of September.

While we are just a few weeks away from seeing the new iPhones, rumors are pointing to an exciting upgrade with a lot to offer. In a recent rumor, the iPhone lineup is now expected to arrive with color-matched and braided USB-C to USB-C cables.

An X (previously known as Twitter) user who goes by the username MajinBuOfficial shared the details via a tweet. They posted two photos showing braided USB-C to USB-C cables in pink and grey colors. However, he mentioned in the tweet that he has found the photos on the internet and is not able to trace their source. Thus, these could be fake photos as well.

The next day, Apple device prototype collector “Kosutami” confirmed in a tweet that Apple is indeed working on color-coded and braided charging cables and she has seen the samples from the design validation test (DVT). Kosutami mentioned that these cables are expected to arrive with iPhone 15 lineup.

Except for the black color, charging cables in other colors have a glossy white plastic shell at both ends. A Strain relief tube can also be spotted on the cables in the photos posted by Kosutami. Apple does not provide anything such as Apple Watch magnetic charging cables and MagSafe 3 cables.

Apple already offers color-coded and braided cables with MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. Therefore, it would not be a surprise to see the company offer the same with the upcoming iPhones.

Speaking to MacRumors, Kosutami mentioned that these braided charging cables will be available in white, black, yellow, purple, and orange color options.

iPhone 15 Ultra?

He says, “Here’s a late Friday tidbit I’ve heard for #iPhone15. Multiple sources have told me Apple will indeed use the “iPhone 15 Ultra” monicker for the plus-sized pro phone. This was an early rumor that got backpedaled. Most have since referred to it as iPhone 15 Pro Max.”

This is not the first time when we are hearing that Apple could name its high-end iPhone the iPhone Ultra. However, the rumor died down months ago and since then it is believed that Apple will continue with iPhone 15 Pro Max moniker.

There is no concrete backing to this rumor, therefore we recommend our readers take this with a pinch of salt and wait until Apple’s official announcement of new iPhones.
