Apple to unveil iPhone SE 5G next spring

Apple may introduce a new iPhone SE in the spring. 5G will be.

Apple has had a well-established mechanism for several years now when it comes to launching new devices. The iPhone, for example, follows a very precise rhythm. However, from time to time the company from Cupertino presents a small surprise, integrating here and there a little-expected model. Next spring, the Apple brand may introduce the iPhone SE 5G.

Apple may introduce a new iPhone SE in the spring

The American giant could indeed take advantage of its already-routine spring event to upgrade its most affordable smartphone yet. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, in its latest newsletter, Apple could unveil the third-generation iPhone SE this spring, with a virtual reveal “probably”in March or April.

And as an echo of previous rumors, Mark Gurman understands that this new iPhone SE will still retain a design very close to that of the iPhone 8, but with a 5G-compatible chip and a new processor – possibly the same A15 chip as iPhone. 13, if Apple’s habit of taking high-performance chips from last year is any sign.

5G will be there

The American journalist does not mention other changes. Either way, it wouldn’t be surprising if Apple increased storage to 128GB or integrated better photo sensors – again borrowed from the iPhone 8 – but none of that can be guaranteed as the Cupertino company is still focused on the final score.. for your iPhone SE. However, a larger battery may be required to offset 5G power requirements.

If this information is correct, this new iPhone SE will in any case be somewhat disappointing for those who are looking for a device with a near bezel-less design. There, it would still have to do with a relatively small screen, thick edges, and a fingerprint scanner in a large home button. As mentioned, ultimately, for the iPhone SE, the final price matters.

Offered at a public price of €489, the current model allows Apple to reach a target audience that might otherwise not be able to afford an iPhone. The Cupertino company has an interest in not raising that price, even if only slightly, if it doesn’t want to lower that target.
