Apple Podcasts has new charts that highlight the most popular subscription shows and paid channels to help you find content that’s worth your money.
- What is happening? Apple’s podcasting service hit two new charts in four countries, highlighting the top 100 shows and subscription channels.
- Why care? If listening to podcasts is part of your daily routine, these charts will help you find the highest paying shows that might be worth your money.
- What to do? Update the Podcasts app and install the latest software updates on your devices. Charts can be found under the Overview tab in the most recent version of the Podcasts app.
New Apple Podcasts for Top Pay Shows and Channels
Apple added paid shows to its podcasting service in June 2021 in hopes of helping creators monetize their content and users to support their favorite podcasters. To make it easier to find and subscribe to the most popular pay shows, Apple has introduced two charts: “Top Shows for Subscribers”and “Top Channels for Subscribers”.
At the time of writing, some notable shows and authors have been featured on the charts, including Amazon Wondery and its podcasts such as “Morbid”and “SmartLess”, Luminary’s “Black Star’s No Fear of Time”and Pushkin’s “Malcolm Gladwell’s Go”. and see.”Read: How to Embed Apple Podcasts Episodes on Websites
The Apple Podcasts for Creators webpage notes that these charts are initially available on Apple Podcasts in four countries: US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Users in these countries must be running iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, and macOS Monterey 12.5 or later on their device to access charts.
Apple claims that the Apple Podcasts charts are updated several times a day.
Top Subscribers Show on Apple Podcasts
Thousands of shows offer premium benefits with an Apple Podcasts subscription. Top Subscriber Shows helps listeners find these podcasts.
Listeners can view the top 100 shows included in the subscription. These include shows from all categories that offer exclusive content, early access to new episodes, bonus episodes, ad-free listening, and other premium experiences;
Most Popular Subscriber Channels on Apple Podcasts
“Listeners can also discover great premium experiences through groups of shows called channels,” Apple notes. This chart provides a list of the top 100 pay channels and two or more shows. “The more listeners engage with shows and episodes included in a subscription channel, the higher it ranks on this chart.”
