Apple wants you to know the iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma updates bring way more new features to its iPhone, iPad and Mac than meets the eye.
In addition to the preview pages on Apple’s website highlighting the key new features in iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma, the company has now published three PDFs detailing every single change and tweak in these operating systems.
The rumors said the updates would focus more on speed and reliability and less on bombarding people with tons of new features. These newly published PDFs providing very detailed release notes are an effective way to change that perception.
PDF release notes: iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma
Apple has linked to the following PDF documents at the bottom of its preview pages for iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma:
- New features available with iOS 17
- New features available with iPadOS 17
- New features available with macOS Sonoma
The company hasn’t provided similar PDFs to detail everything new in tvOS 17 and watchOS 10. tvOS 17 brings a small handful of user-facing changes but watchOS 10 packs plenty of new features, and a detailed PDF would be helpful and appreciated.
Having compared these documents to the iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma release notes folks will see in Software Update, iDB can confirm the PDFs are much more detailed. This is the first time Apple has published dedicated PDFs listing all the changes in its operating systems in such an exhaustive manner.
The company has set the release date for iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma to Monday, September 18. We’ll update the article if Apple publishes similarly detailed PDF release notes for tvOS 17 and watchOS 10.
