Apple is currently beta testing iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 and plans to release major software updates later this year. However, before that can happen, there is one more relatively small update in the books for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. And today is the day to get it on your device(s).
The company released iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 today. As you can probably guess from the version number and the fact that Apple has an even bigger update waiting in the wings, this is secondary to the overall scheme of things. However, there are a few new additions added to the mix.
iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 added the ability to restart a live sports event while it is in progress. It also adds the ability to rewind, forward or pause the game. Dive storage should show the correct amount of free space in the Settings app, fixing a bug that could show that the storage on the device is full even when it isn’t.
There are several other tweaks that help with general usage as well, including fixing a crash that could affect the use of Apple Books.
Here is the official changelog:
iOS 15.6 includes improvements, bug fixes, and security updates.
- The TV app adds the ability to restart a live sports game, as well as pause, rewind or fast forward.
- We fixed an issue where Settings could continue to show that the device’s memory is full even though it is available.
