Arc System Works: BlazBlue License Creator Quits

Toshimichi Mori leaves Arc System Works after 19 years of loyal service.

The Japanese studio Arc System Works is losing Toshimichi Mori, the creator of the famous BlazBlue fighting game series, which was abandoned in novels, manga and even animated series:

I joined Arc System Works after working on Guilty Gear X as a PicPac staff member and I cherish the great experience I’ve gained over the years in the studio, whether it’s working on various fighting games, developing my own BlazBlue title, or connecting with many of our players.. I have nothing but gratitude for the Arc System Works staff and others who have worked with me, as well as all the fans who have supported us. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am leaving Arc System Works. This can cause feelings of anxiety, especially for fans of the BlazBlue series. For this I sincerely apologize.

Toshimichi Mori will turn the page on Arc System Work with a new license

If the future of BlazBlue is now solely in the hands of Arc System Work, Toshimichi Mori says he is ready to create a new license. It remains to be seen whether this will be independently or with the help of an industry-renowned name like Sony, Nintendo or Tencent:

At the moment, I’m thinking about somehow building and delivering the game to the players, and I’m going to focus my efforts on that. Your support will be highly appreciated.
