ASUS ROG Swift is the first 500Hz G-Sync gaming monitor

ASUS introduces a 500Hz gaming monitor, the world’s first not without benefits.

ASUS has unveiled what it calls the world’s first 500Hz G-Sync gaming monitor, the ROG Swift 1080p 500Hz. Designed and built for competitive video games, this screen uses an “E-TN”(“eSports TN”) panel and uses NVIDIA G-Sync eSports technology for even sharper, more precise movements. The monitor also features NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer technology, which provides real-time statistics to help reduce latency when using a mouse and an NVIDIA Reflex compatible graphics card.

ASUS introduced a gaming monitor with a frequency of 500 Hz

The big feature here is obviously the 500Hz refresh rate, which is therefore eight times faster than regular 60Hz screens, and ASUS isn’t shy about pointing that out. The company also promises a 60% faster response time than standard TN panels thanks to the new eSports TN technology. The monitor also includes a feature called Vibrance mode implemented directly in the screen firmware. This is supposed to allow more light to pass through the LCD crystals, boosting the brightness of colors and “allowing you to notice details and other clues that can give away an enemy’s position,”says the manufacturer.

World’s first without lack of benefits

The 500Hz G-Sync displays are really focused on competitive games like CS:GO, Valorant, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege. NVIDIA also announced four new games compatible with Reflex: Icarus, My Time at Sandrock, Soda Crisis, and Warstride Challenges.

NVIDIA also posted a video below showing the benefits of high frame rates, including improved animation for easier target tracking, minimal ghosting, and reduced latency. This “benefits all games and players, not just competitive gaming and esports,”NVIDIA explained in its own press release.
