Unhappy with its huge current success with several million players and impressive numbers, the platform has just signed a major partnership with American sports giant, the NBA. And to make it big, basketball will soon be entitled to an entire game dedicated to the orange ball.
Sorare signs NBA partnership deal
Sorare has never hidden his intention to play sports other than football. The latter continues to grow with the advent of second divisions, baseball (thanks to MLB), and soon it will be basketball. The French startup has secured a multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) to launch a new game for the 2022-23 NBA season this fall. There’s plenty to do in NBA 2K23 for fans of the orange ball!
We take the same ones and start, so to speak, anew. The color of the ball and players will change. NBA players will be digitized as NFTs with stats that will change based on their actual on-court play and several levels of rarity. By collecting player cards, users form their teams and compete in various competitions to win rewards.
