BGMI has finally announced what fans have been talking about for weeks now – a collaboration on Spider-Man: No Way Home. Krafton and Battlegrounds Mobile India have teamed up with Sony Pictures to bring the Erangel website to the BGMI Version 1.8 update. Starting today, players will be able to obtain exclusive items such as skins by completing certain missions in the game.
More details on gameplay changes and items will be revealed with the launch of Update 1.8 in mid-January. Krafton hasn’t confirmed an exact release date for BGMI version 1.8, but it’s expected to arrive in mid-January. “This exciting collaboration will allow fans around the world to expand their interactions with friendly neighbor Spider-Man with the latest BGMI gameplay – and all the while on the go with their mobile phone,”said Jeffrey Godsick, EVP Global Partnerships. and brand management, as well as head of location-based entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
BGMI confirms collaboration with Spider-Man: No Way Home
This collaboration was teased back in December 2021 with a promotional image of BGMI’s signature helmet surrounded by webs. It will be interesting to see what new content, skins and gameplay additions the collaboration will bring. The bar for Spider-Man cooperation has been set quite high in games like Fortnite, which introduced the swinging mechanic to the game.
While web swing is unlikely to happen at BGMI, the developers probably have some amazing things planned for the collaboration. A similar collab happened between PUBG Mobile and Spider-Man: No Way Home a while back, and maybe the developers have something similar for BGMI fans. More details on the collaboration will be revealed as we get closer to the launch of Update 1.8 in mid-January. Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently in theaters.
