BGMI bans over 66,000 fraudulent accounts in latest wave

The developers of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) have been constantly looking for scammers and hackers in the game and have publicly released the names of the mentioned scammers over the past few months. Cheating is one of the biggest problems for any game as popular as BGMI, but the Krafton developers have made punishing cheaters their top priority.

From March 28 to April 3, Crafton was able to permanently ban 66,263 accounts. While this is a pretty impressive number, it’s also worth noting that the steadily rising number of bans also reflects that cheating continues to be a major problem in the community.

BGMI isn’t the only game to face the challenges of cheating and introducing third-party apps and software, but given the incredibly popular game, the amount of cheating it faces is significantly higher. Cheating is one of the biggest contributors to the game’s decline in popularity, and that’s what Krafton is trying to avoid.

In comment sections and online message boards, the BGMI community is demanding stronger sanctions against scammers to make the consequences of scams more severe. While permanent blocking should be enough of a consequence, blocking devices seems to have done the trick as well.

Along with the demand for stronger anti-fraud sanctions, there is also tangible demand for the BGMI Lite app. Essentially a version of the game that is not as demanding on mobile devices, so it can run on lower end smartphones.

So far, Krafton has not directly confirmed the development of a Lite variant, but there are reports and rumors on the Internet about the same.
